eclipse

On Monday, April 8, there will be a rare total solar eclipse. The Rio Rancho/Albuquerque area will not experience a total eclipse but rather a partial eclipse (about 78 percent) at approximately 11:16 am to 1:47 p.m. Safety is always a top priority. We will take all precautionary measures to make this experience both safe and enjoyable for any student who has parent permission to use our school provided glasses. Opportunities will be provided during student lunches for students who have a physical copy of the permission form in hand. Information about our glasses can be found here. STUDENTS WHO DO NOT PROVIDE THIS FORM WILL NOT BE ABLE TO VIEW THE ECLIPSE(For more information on the eclipse, visit https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/) Students may also not bring their own glasses for the event since we cannot guarantee their safety. A parent/guardian signature on this sheet is required on Monday for students to participate in the event using the eclipse glasses. Please send this consent form with your child on Monday. They will also need their school ID for verification.
