The winners and judges at the 2021 Native American Pageant

Indigenous languages and culture filled the air earlier this week during the 5th annual Rio Rancho Public Schools Native American Pageant, held at the Rio Rancho High School Performing Arts Center. Rio Rancho High School freshman Pharrah Clark was crowned Miss Indian RRPS and Rio Rancho High School senior Yanibaa Johnson was named Jr. Miss Indian RRPS. For the first time, a Middle School Miss Indian RRPS Ambassador was part of the pageantry. Danielle Delgarito, an eighth grader at Rio Rancho Middle School took home that honor. The event featured drumming by Southern Slam from the Zia Pueblo; Rio Rancho High School teacher Nathaniel Charley was master of ceremonies.
