Allen Clupny

Welcome to Rio Rancho Middle School
Automation and Robotics

Hello, My name is Allen Clupny
Just a bit of information about me. I am a retired member of the U.S. Air Force. While there I was an electronic and mechanical technician working on various aircraft systems and sub-systems. Additionally, I worked at Intel in equipment maintenance, process and operations.
Each year presents new opportunities for me and each student. If your student has been in this class before, there will be some changes. My expectation is for each and every student is that they meet and exceed every challenge and assignment that is presented. They are all more than capable and I look forward to seeing how well the assignments push each student forward.

Periods 1, 3, 4 & 5
The students are now preparing for the SumoBot competition. Three teams from each of the above four classes will design, build and program for in-class competition. The three top teams will be eligible to compete in the district competition.
We are nearing the end of the semester. Please encourage your student to stay focused in each class and end 2019 well.  The event is at Lincoln MS in Dec 11th from 5:30- 8:00 in the gym.

This class is designed to be more like a job. As any (employee), students are expected to work well every day, all day. In that vein of thought, Students are given 20 points each day. They lose 5 at a time for getting off task or disrupting the class. If three incidents occur in one class period, parents will be notified. All tests and quizzes' are 100.  In addition, there will be 6 - 8 vocabulary quizzes that come directly from their notebook entries. Notebooks will be an essential component of the class, since it become their reference book for much of the class.  I will review these details with the classes and have posters on the wall to remind students of some of these facts.
I will do my best to keep up with the calendar. However, the pace for each class tends to differ, sometimes significantly. Please feel free to contact me for any needed specifics.
