Optional Activity During School Closure:
 If you would like to keep your kids math skills sharp I have assigned work in Khan Academy for the  units we will be doing when we return.  It is optional to do but will help your child get a head start on the concepts we will be learning when we return.  Most students are already in the class and I assigned Module 5 and 6 of Eureka Math.  If your child is not on the list class code are below or they can just search Eureka 8th grade module 5. Again this is optional and not for a grade.

  • Ruler
  • Protractor
  • Highlighters (At least two different colors)
  • Post-it Tabs to use as dividers for notes
  • Scientific Calculator (optional, highly recommended TI 30x IIs)

  

GRADING:


Assessments 70% of grade
Practice 30%

Each semester final will be worth 20% of their semester grade.

Assignments will be accepted up until the day that the students test on the concept or 3 days prior to the end of the quarter which ever comes first.

Students will be given the opportunity to correct missed problems on assessments prior to the grading of the assessment.  After graded assessments are returned students will be informed of the time frame they have in order to get parent signature an retake missed assessment questions.
