What's happening in Mr. O' Class?

(9/25 – 9/29):

Monday: First read of an excerpt from Maya Angelou’s “Mom & Me & Mom.”

Tuesday: Discuss Characterization in a Nonfiction Narrative.

Wednesday: Take a look at independent and dependent clauses. We will also begin our first watch of “Learning to Love My Mother,” a companion video to Maya Angelou’s text, in which Angelou discusses her relationship with her mother.

Thursday: We will write a comparison/contrast paragraph in which the students will discuss how Angelou’s relationship with her mother is portrayed in both mediums.

Friday: Work on our first image gallery – “Mother Daughter Drawings.”

Before we part, I just want let you know that Nonfiction Narrative grading has begun! Please double check with your student that they have completed theirs, and have shared it with me through Google Docs.
